Plum monster: Chalet?
I bought this in a rush thinking it might be Czech, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's Chalet. It's big, over 23" long.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

could you also post a pic of the base
Hi David,
Could you also post a pic of the base? And how much does it weigh?
I think the door is certainly open to whether it could be Chalet but I would do a preliminary rule out of Lorraine based on the colour. I would love to see the base and also re the weight get an idea to how heavy sommerso.
Thanks!
Deborah

Re: Plum monster: Chalet?
Good points, Deborah, as it's the base that's causing me the major problem. Some of the base seems to be chamfered, but not very well, and the base looks less polished than the great majority I've seen. Of course, it may be a great deal of wear as well.
It weighs 2.4 kg, or 5 lbs 5 oz of those who, like me, can't quite change.

unusual base
Hi David,
Well it's certainly a smooth flat polished base like Chalet did but sorry- can't see what it looks like in relation to the piece. Could you take another one showing the base with the piece from it. Looks very organic - not a molded base. And again, that certainly doen't do either any ruling in or out. From the weight - nice and sommerso too so again....
By the way - looks fantastic. Hey Glassman, Darlene... need your input here! Plus all the new members - love to hear from you!

Lorraine
After thinking about it i'd say it is Lorraine all the way. Colour and shape are the give away.
