Hi everyone,
I was in Cornwall today and 3 of the chalet glass blowers were there - in fact met Paolo Bastianello whom I had not met before. Anyways, one question led to another and so on and learnt a few interesting things today about Chalet colours:
When a clear chalet piece has a yellowish cast instead of the brilliant clear crystal it is because too much lead was used and

they showed me the difference in Chalet between a purple piece and an amethyst piece:the large piece on its own is what they consider purple and the tiny mini on the end in the gallery picture is considered amethyst.
