amazing cleaning tip for "cloudy" marks
Hi everyone,
Last week I received a new cleaning tip from a collector. He had been told that Alka Seltzer or denture cleaning tablets worked to get rid of "clouds", dirt and water marks on glass. He had asked me about using CLR on a vase and I said "No way - remember this is crystal" but we couldn't see how the "fizzies" would hurt. Anyways, he first tried the typical rice, water and vinegar and he got rid of alot of the dirt but the water markings were still there. So he tried the Alka Seltzer tablets (he let stand overnight) and it worked really well on most of what was remaining. Then he decided to try the denture tablets and they cleared just about everything else up that was still marking the glass.
I have not tried yet but will be on a vase with a very stubborn water mark in the throat - I have tried everything else but had never heard of this. Will let you know how it works for me. Thanks going out to "Ken H"!

Hi again,
Heard from Ken again and he has a reference for us "It seems like there is hope for a complete cleaning if it is done professionally. See [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] . Note that even this author recommends trying denture tablets."
