Chalet lamps

I have seen some Chalet lamps. They look like the twist vase that has been turned upside with a whole drilled through the base for wiring. Were these lamps done by Chalet or was there some industrious person who took some Chalet bases and made "after market" lamps out of them? In addition, if lamps were actually made by Chalet how rare/common are they?

Hi there,

Chalet did the lamps for a short period of time - discontinued the line as too many of the crystal twist vases broke during the drilling of the base for the electrical. You can tell when you get a vase that was made for a lamp base as is much wider and more stable if inverted - examples in "The Shapes and
Colours" book. Given the incidence of damage and the short production time - quite rare.
