Is this an unusual Chalet etching?
Hello,
I got a signed fish, but instead of Chalet Canada, it's reads Chalet "BA" or "DA" (it's hard to say). I've never seen that before. Is that unusual?

can't see
hi Pierre,
I can't see from the pic - can you take another one with a pointer showing the marking. Thanks!

Re: Is this an unusual Chalet etching?
Hi Deb,
I tried with a pointer, but couldn't get a good picture. (Chalet animals are so hard to photograph!) The following is the best I could do. I tried to angle it in the light so that the etching could be seen more clearly.

mismark
Hi Pierre,
Thanks for retaking pic - so clear!
That is a classic mismark - last 2 letters of "Canada" from the common "Chalet Canada" signature. The varities are endless and fun to find.

Re: Is this an unusual Chalet etching?
lol Why did't I think of that!
Actually, the etchings are sometimes barely noticeable. A few weeks ago, someone sold me a beautifully proportioned "unmarked" twist vase. The base was a bit dirty and had a little felt residue on it, so I gave it a good wash. Once it was sparkling clean, there was barely a scratch on that base AND I uncovered a very, very light Chalet Canada etching!! I almost felt guilty for getting it for so cheap... but not really

fish
Hi Pierre, nice fish.......I have a set of 3 like that. How tall is the one you have. I'm really curious on how many different sizes some of the animals came in as I have a few of the same but different sizes. I can't quite remember but i think my tallest fish like this was 12-14 inches then 2 more just a bit smaller. I really like these fish as they are so sleek looking.
Have a good day Bob

RE FISH
Hi Bob,
I agree with you, this shape of fish is quite nice. I never paid much attention to Chalet animals till recently. I'm really starting to appreciate them.
This particular fish is a little over 10 inches high. I would love to get others in different sizes.
