Chalet CD LXX1 Green Swirl Bowl - unfinished?
Sorry, I've had trouble trying to insert photos, but here are 3 images you can copy and paste to take a look at.
This green and clear swirl bowl with petal feet is not shiny and clear. It has white areas on it, that do not wash off.
The entire piece is in a matte finish.
Do you think this would have been a rejected piece, or possibly an artist's sample?
Date code and CD is impressed into the bottom.
Thanks for your advice.

I bought it at a flea market outside of Montreal.
I was excited to see that it marked, and I thought I could clean it.
Its confusing as to why it is finished like it is.

is a second
Hi there,
Welcome - great piece. The reason that it is opaque is that it was "cooked" too long. So is a second. It is very interesting that it was marked. Alot of seconds were sold in the Montreal area and right out of the factory. This style of hand-moulded ribbed were most often done in the olive green, amber and cranberry. However, they were also done in blue and ornage - those are rare.
