exhibit reception guests of honour
Hi everyone,
Just an update re the Oct 30th exhibit reception - wanted to share some exciting developments. First the disappointing news, Maestro Guillo Gatto will not be able to attend the opening as he will be in Italy (pretty good reason) but is thrilled to hear of the exhibit and sent very kind words. He plans to attend the show once he is home so I will post more about that later.
Antonio and Irma Tedesco have confirmed their attendance - Antonio is the third Tedesco brother from Chalet. He was not a glass blower but an expert in "moleria" - an artisan who worked on repairing the glass and finishing the bases. His wife, Irma, worked at Chalet also (I am not sure whether in the factory, offices, or showroom).
Maestro Panizzon still plans on attending and will still have personal pieces on loan as well. So we will have both a Chalet master and a Chalet artisan in attendance as well as members of their families. Lucie Tedesco (daughter of Angelo) Daniela (daughter of Antonio and Irma) and Mario (son of Bruno) which is so thrilling. Mario and Lucie have extensive collections of Chalet and Mario is so knowledgeable about the glass that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn first hand the answers to some questions you may have.
I am getting very excited - it will be amazing to see over 300 pieces of Chalet all together under gallery lights and to meet the people responsible for their beauty. Hope to see you there. Thanks to the fellow collectors who have put pieces on loan this will be a show to remember!

Wow!
This is all very exciting!
We are still trying to work out a way for at least one of us to attend.
Will we need to get tickets in advance?

attending reception
Hi cwms,
No tickets needed to attend either the reception or the show - the Cornwall Regional Art Gallery does not charge an addmission cover to any of their gallery showings.
Hope you will be able to get your arrangements in place - it would be fun to meet you!

more guests of honour
Hi everyone,
The news continues to get better - Mr. Gianfranco Guarnieri, Chalet glassblower, has confirmed his attendance at the reception! I just spoke with him and he and his wife very graciously agreed to come - he also said he would contact Mr. Giovanni Voltolina, yet another glassblower, on my behalf as I had not heard back from him. As well - he said there are some others who worked at Chalet that he would talk too!
Awesome!
