UVA ultraviolet black light

UVA light is known as a long wave UV light or black light. Wavelengths are commonly measured in nm (nanometers).
To detect uranium in art glass a UVA light should be of a 380-385 nm or 395 nm strength light. You should use some sort of eye protection when using this light in a dark room for a long period of time. A Greiger counter would sure be nice to have when trying to find glass that was made with uranium.
I have tried to purchase a good UVA light locally but have not been successful in doing so. I have ordered a good quality UVA LED flashlight on the web from the USA and also ultraviolet enhancing and protection goggles.
By having a portable UVA light I can use it when I am searching for glass that possibly has uranium. I can always ask the seller if I may take the glass piece to a bathroom where I can examine it in the dark with my UVA flashlight. I have found several good articles on the web about what type of UVA lights should be used when inspecting and purchasing art glass. I have also bought a unusual large amber bowl that I feel that it may have been made by Chalet. I will post pictures of it on my photobucket.com at a later date.
