Is this really Chalet? Part 2 Empty Is this really Chalet? Part 2

I purchased this very unusual basket that has a Chalet sticker but it incorporates Millefiori, which I have never seen in a piece of Chalet glass before.  As I have learned already you can't trust a sticker but it seems like the face prunts would almost certainly be a Sergio Pagnin design.  Does this seem like Chalet?  I would appreciate any input.

Thanks

Is this really Chalet? Part 2 Empty basket

Hi Kevin,
That's a very interesting basket. Have you heard from anyone if they thought it was a Chalet piece or not? I haven't seen any other baskets with the face prunt at the base of the handles. Let me know if you hear from anyone.
Thanks Bob

Hey Bob

The only person I have talked to is Bradley and he seemed pretty certain it's Chalet. I've compared it to some other Pagnin baskets I own and the prunt is exactly the same, so I have little doubt now. Still would love to hear from more people though.

Thanks

Is this really Chalet? Part 2 Empty believe it is Chalet

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the long silence - I could not access my admin privileges and therefore locked out of my own forum LOL so I gave up for a bit but posting problems cleared up now.

I do believe this is Chalet - while I have also never seen millefiori in Chalet that does not mean they did not produce it as an artist's sample - especially before they became so determined to produce "Canadian" inspired pieces as many of Chalet's earlier pieces are so clearly inspired by their Murano roots. Moreover, the basket shape is definitely Chalet, the sticker looks genuine (although I understand your reluctance to base a conclusion solely on a sticker but I believe that in this case you can) and I have never, ever seen face prunts on any piece that wasn't Chalet. Pagnin used them on basket handles extensively - it was one of his signatures. Actually more common for him to do so on baskets than on vases. Lovely piece.
