Has anyone ever seen a black one? I've always wanted one.

This is a very unusual Chalet animal figurine - I have posted more images of him on the chaletvintageartglass gallery on photobucket. He is not signed BUT have a picture of him in the Chalet 1970 brochure. They also did this figurine in crystal clear - have a signed one on loan at the exhibit from Mario P.

His colouring is very sommerso - ranges from a deep black olive green to black to smoky gray. He is presently down in Cornwall but is part of the Chalet Vintage Inventroy. Highly unusual colouring and the most "black" Chalet I have ever seen.

Black Chalet Empty no black

Hi Glassman,

I was in Cornwall today and met 3 of the Chalet glass blowers - had the presence of mind (which wasn't easy - weird day!) to ask if they ever did pieces in black - nope. The little elephant was there so I showed them and they said "Yeah - that's the closest to a black piece that Chalet would have done". They also said that some of the amethyst pieces were "blacker" than others.
