Here are a few new pics of pieces that I've picked up the last while. Chalet two-tone maple leaf is my most unusual one lately. I' putting up a shelving unit shortly so I was un-boxing a bunch of glass that I've bought but never unwrapped until two days ago. It turns out I've got a few doubles....LOL. There are also other pieces but they were already in other cabinets so I left them there until the unit is up.
Here is the link to the pics

It is an aaahsome collection of glass, which I covet incredibly! So much more effective in quantity, I feel. I am wondering why the maple leaf is of interest. Is it Chalet, CanadaArt or other? I did purchase one this summer---so am curious to know if it's more special than I first thought. Did all the Canadian companies do their own version of the maple leaf? Any info welcome and appreciated. Mine is green and blue----packed away just now so can't provide dimensions.

A huge thank-you to all the active posters who make my day whenever a new entry appears!

A few new pics Empty new pieces

Hi Chaletcollector
Thank you. I've been collecting for a couple years now. I was mostly collecting animals but kept finding interesting larger pieces and it just snowballed from there. I was very happy when I came across the maple leaf also and signed as well. I keep flip flopping on what pieces I want to collect. Sometimes the color makes me buy it or sometimes its the shape, or its just so different from what you usually see.

Hi Sassyglassy
I'm not sure who all made the maple leaf but Chalet did them for the Centennial. This is the first one I've found other than in books. Maybe yours is the same since it's a blue/green also. If it is,good for you. I'll be posting more pics once I get my shelving up.

Happy collecting
Bob

Hi Bob,

Stunning Bob - your splashes are wonderful. I love your little Lorraine mini too - have one like it and one also in a 2 tone orange. They are so cute. I have to have another photo shoot so will take a picture of them for you.

Lorraine and Mosaic also did maple leaves - they are the ones with the ribbed bases and stems. Not commissioned for Expo but obviously following Chalet's lead.

I still covet that Chalet bottle - it is so unique!

Have added quite a few very unusual pieces personally lately - will post after getting shot. I am such a lousy photographer that will wait till next year and get my guy to do.

Deborah

Am adding picture of a Mosaic Artistic maple leaf - Lorraine version is virtually identical:

Thanks for more on maple leaves, Deborah. Mine is not the colour combo I remembered---actually is mauve and turquoisey blue--both mid-intensity---not deep hues. It measures 12 inches across from widest tip to tip. From top tip to bottom of stem is 11 !/4 inches. It's heavy! Height is 4 inches on average. The leaf segments look wider than your photo. Base is ribbed but stem is just lightly grooved on top. Sticker is round with black and gold Made In Canada with small black maple leaf.
Any help on its maker? TIA --

Hi there,

Can you post pic? However, from your description (going on colour combo here mostly), my best first bet would be that it sounds like a Lorraine piece.

My usual problems with posting a pic. Will try to do so when my time and patience are in ample supply. Shall call it Lorraine in meantime. Merci bien!
