I admit, I almost burst out laughing when I saw that crocodile. It may have been a very interesting mishap (I can't even begin to guess what it was suppose to end up as) or a personal experiment? Either way, excellent find - truly unique!

Hi Bradley,

Yeah - that's a bizarre pieceLOL. When setting up for exhibit, again at Anthony Tedesco's, he showed me an "avventuria" anteater - it was crazy. I have no clue why anyone would do a piece like that and asked him if it was a favorite animal or something but he just said "No". I guess inspiration works in unexplicable ways!

"LORRAINE CROCODILE?" AND A NEW BLUE CHALET PIECE SIGNED FIRST PHOTO OF THE BLUE PIECES AND A SWAN PLUS MORE! Empty Koala

Hi Bradley,

Chalet did a production koala for Riekes that was crystal and a bit larger than normal but check this out:

This is an artist's sample that Gianfranco blew circa 1968 for N.C. Cameron (it is stickered). It was intended for the American market as they demanded a different line of product - the reason you see so many pure crystal pieces for Riekes and N. C. Cameron. He is 8 inches tall and weighs 7 LBS 14 OUNCES - an absolutely massive figurine.
Did not go into production as too big and expensive. Gianfranco took it home and they used it as a front door stop (has a small chip) - only an Italian master would have an 8 lb crystal handblown figurine as a door stopLOL It is still in their family. He loaned it to me for the exhibit and I am telling you - incredible piece as the sheer size is mind boggling.
