Comment on another site

Hello Deborah,

I want to bring to everyone's attention a comment that was recently posted to another site - I have sent a message to both your site and it as well. I was disgusted as it is clearly apparent that it is the same person - not too many people post on that site and certainly not so close together - so obvious that they are answering themselves.

This is the first time that I have posted here - I have watched the site for a long time but have only registered recently because the site has added security and controls. The reasons for which are clear now - cyber bully. Well - you had a pretty good run without one so I guess it was only a matter of time.

Please do not let someone with issues ruin it for the rest of us. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the support you get from this. They say there is no such thing as bad advertising.

Hi Will,

Welcome to the forum - I just got home and read your e-mail and post. I visited the "other site" and agree with you re inevitability. You are also right about why this site has had to put in some security. When it became obvious that it had a "cyber bully" (thanks for a great description) I contacted the forum hosts. They offer so many services- should have started out with them but live and learn. Anyway, as of last week they are now controlling the site moderating and review which means inappropriate comments are deleted pretty much instantly and posters are banned if they persist with that sort of agenda. These guys have alot of experience with this sort of thing and the information that they are providing about this poster is very detailed. I get an e-mail notification when they edit, delete or ban and that is it - no time wasted and forum members not subjected to inappropriate comments. Love the distance - gives you a new perspective - can't believe that someone would waste their time doing this and no longer my problem.

Hope that you post again soon - the site has had quite a few new registrations since login required to post etc. It has not been impacted in the least so I continue to look forward to seeing new collections and new discussions with everyone. I appreciate as well your comments about the book. I am getting alot of good feedback - looks like it has a good chance of being carried in some bookstores as well so am super excited about those prospects. Will post more about that later.

Hi Deborah,

I belong to quite a few online groups and they have all been hit by this type of person. Just typical of being anonymous. What I think might help make clear what administrators and moderators disallow is if you would post in the forum the terms that we all agreed to when we asked to beregistered members of this forum. It is a privilege not a right and I am pleased to see that you are intent on keeping this forum safe for collectors.

I gave the idea of posting the terms of acceptance on the forum a great deal of thought and checked with the "backend" guys to get their opinion. Overall, everyone felt that since this was a problem created by one person and the security of the site has been addressed, it would not be fair to treat everyone else as if they had created a problem. Like Kenneth Blanchard says, "There is nothing so unequal as the equal treatment of unequals." So I am going to take their advice (what do you hire experts for if you then don't listen to themLOL) and let them deal with any future issues if and when they arise in the appropriate manner.

Hi Brenda,

I am sending you an e-mail and posting this as well to make sure that you get an answer as soon as possible. I contacted the site's administrators and they told me that they have no power over Google and that you would have to contact them. It is not in any site's control to impact/block etc what shows up on any search engine's listings.
