Blown Glass Empty Blown Glass

Post  Newby Sat May 07, 2011 11:50 am

I am new into collecting glown glass. I have 3 pieces that I have recently acquired. My problem is I don't know how to identify if it is made by Chalet or another company. Can anyone give me some insight at to how to tell. I have one piece that is Amber and it is basically the same color all the way through. the base has "nobbies" on it and it has two arms (for lack of a better term) that swoop upwards and cross at the very top. Another piece I have is also amber but the base is clear and it has two long arms that extend out from opposite sides and two shorter arms that extend on opposite sides. I acquired a piece yestereday that is smooth and has not nubbies on it. The color of this one is dark and is not really translucent but you can see through the glass that it has bubbles that are elongated. The color is sort of a reddish/brown color and has a base that has two curved arms extending up but do not cross each other. I would welcome any tips on how I can identify if these are reproductions are genuine Chalet or some other company. Thanks.

Hi,

So nice to have you join the forum - welcome!

If you could post some pictures on flcker or photobucket of your glass or here on the site - you would get all the help you need and then some!LOL It is almost impossible to help you without seeing pics as Lorraine, Chalet, Murano, Canada Art, Czech... all share very similar characteristics and without acturally seeing the glass - impossible to give you any tips with any sort of accuracy.

Can't wait to see your pictures!
