Hi everyone,

I have a very strange pair of vases - not crystal but leaded glass. Both are 13 high and almost the same diameter and weight. Not bought together. Not marked. Have had some knowlegeable people rule out Chalet, Lorraine and Murano. Others still looking. Anyone seen anything like these?

Here they are again with some Chalet "splashes".

Appreciate any help - thanks!

Hi Glassman,

My Lorraine expert says "No". I was very surprised as I had always felt that they were but he says not. We will have to keep looking.

very strange "splash" vase set needs identifying Empty just a thought

Post  deborah Fri May 06, 2011 12:02 pm

Hi again everyone,

Just a thought - unsigned Canada Art? I have seen differing vases, 4 arm stretch centerpieces, ashtrays and cigar bowls, baskets by Canada Art - perhaps this is their "splash"? I know they used green, amber and rootbeer, blue, purple and orange so the colours not out of their style. I also believe they were from Murano so the styling also consistent with that we have seen from Lorraine and Chalet. Has anyone seen anything from them remotely or closely similar to these pieces?

The mystery continues.

I still say Lorraine, but they could be Murano.I've never seen any Canada Art ones with feet like that. But then again C.A.is the biggest mystery of all.I think this blue one i have is simalar. It has the same base and looks to be the same size.I've this blue one in orange too.

Hi Glassman,

Yes - definitely similar. Who knows? A nice riddle to solve. Will be great when we finally get some verifiable info. Then we will have to find another puzzler though.

Hey everyone,

The Chalet artist, all from Lorraine, have also ruled in with a resounding "No" to these pieces being Lorraine so consistent with what I was told from my friend out West and from what he was told from his sources at Lorraine.
